Liugong Island Expo Park
The Expo Park is a large-scale comprehensive tourist landscape, covering an area of 50,000 square meters.
The two old people sitting in the (Sea Temple) hall are Liu Gong and Liu Mu. Liugong Island got its name from these two old people, carrying forward Liu Gong Spirit of being willing to help others.
Going further back, you will see the China Sea Altar, which was built to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Sino-Japanese War. On the stone wall in front of you, there are 56 stone carved flying dragons, which symbolize the unity of the 56 Chinese ethnic groups. The sculpture also embodies the Chinese nation's good wishes for peace at sea.
The large pavilion in front is Wanghai Tower. It was first built in the Tang Dynasty. It is said that it was built by local officials to welcome Empress Wu Zetian's eastern tour.
Next, we will come to the British-Leased Weihaiwei History Museum, which tells the history of Weihaiwei and Liugong Island under British colonial rule.

The large-scale bronze sculpture "Motherland and Weihaiwei" expresses the strong emotions of the Motherland calling for the return of Weihaiwei.
The sperm whale specimen collected by Liugong Island Whale Museum is the largest toothed whale specimen in China so far. Let's go to the second floor to see the protagonist of this exhibition hall - sperm whale.

This sperm whale is a male whale that came ashore in Weihai on January 18, 2008. It is 19.6 meters long and weighs 50.1 tons. According to experts, this sperm whale is about 60 years old, while the average lifespan of whales is 70 years.
The three treasures of sperm whales are body oil, brain oil and ambergris, which have high economic value. China stopped whaling in 1979 and listed all whales and dolphins as national key protected aquatic wildlife, establishing a specialized protection and management system.
The complete skin, skeleton and some organ specimens of sperm whales are exhibited here. Its skeletal system is exhibited next to it. Liugong Island Whale Museum is a window for us to understand sperm whales. We also hope that through the exhibition, we can arouse people's awareness of paying attention to the living environment and environmental protection, and jointly create a beautiful world where people and nature coexist harmoniously.
