The Dragon King Temple is one of the 28 sites belonging to the Sino-Japanese War Memorial on Liugong Island. In 1988, the Dragon King Temple was announced as the third batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

The Dragon King Temple consists of the mountain gate, the main hall, and the east and west wing rooms. The main hall enshrines the Dragon King of the East China Sea, with the Turtle Prime Minister and the Sea Patrol Night Fork on the left and right respectively. There are two steles of virtue displayed in the east wing - "Appease and Win Over People from Near and Far to Make Them Submit to You" and "Govern the Army and Love the People". These two steles were erected by Liu Gongdao's gentry and merchants in 1890 for Navy Admiral Ding Ruchang and Beiyang Guard Commander Zhang Wenxuan respectively.
