Donghong Fort is one of the larger forts on the island, located at the easternmost end of Liugong Island. It is ingeniously shaped, sturdy and practical. It was designed by the chief military instructor of the Beiyang Navy, a German named Hannagan.

In order to truly reproduce the original appearance of the ancient fort, a 240 mm caliber German Krupp cannon was reproduced here. When you climb up the fort, you can feel the strong historical atmosphere. Donghong Fort has become an important place for future generations to receive patriotism education, oceanography outlook and coastal defense education.
