Back Fort of Gongsuo
It is named after the location behind the Naval Hall, and is also called the Majingzi Fort because it is adjacent to the Majingzi Dockyard to the west. The fort was built in 1890 and is equipped with two 240mm caliber ground trap guns, six 75mm field guns, and eight rapid-fire guns. The ground-trap guns are dormant underground, and the water pressure generated by the recoil of the guns is used to make the guns rise and fall freely, turn left and right, and fire flexibly. Next to the south of the fort, semi-underground barracks were built by splitting the mountain, and each barracks can directly reach the gun position. There are vents and exhaust facilities in the tunnel. The barracks are made of red granite and have a typical European architectural style. The fort gun position was destroyed in the Sino-Japanese War, but the barracks are intact. Now, a variety of modern means such as sound, light, and electricity are used to reproduce the battle scenes of that year.
